How much will it cost?

Alteration prices vary depending on the garment, fabric, and the complexity of the work. The prices listed are guideline estimates only.

For exact quotes, we´ll need to assess your garment in person during your appointment. This lets us confirm what’s required and provide a precise price before any work begins.

You’re welcome to send clear photos and a short description of what you’d like done, but in most cases, we can only confirm pricing once we’ve seen the item.

We offer expert clothing repairs, alterations, and tailoring services. Bring your garments in, and we'll advise on the best approach.

Is there parking available? / Where can I park?
Yes, parking is available. Free residential parking is available nearby with no restrictions, and additional spaces are also available on surrounding side roads.

How do I make a booking? / Do I need to book?
We operate primarily by appointment only.

We allow 30 minutes per appointment to ensure dedicated time for each client.

  • We strongly recommend using our online booking system for any garments that need to be tried on (e.g. dress/tailoring adjustments)

  • We accept a small number of walk-ins and same-day appointments, subject to availability.

Appointments are essential during peak times (May - August, November - January).

Do I need to bring anything?
For dress or trouser shortenings, please bring a pair of suitable shoes to ensure accurate adjustments.

Do you do group fittings?
Yes – we accommodate up to two people per 30-minute appointment.
For group fittings of three or more, please email us at theworkshop.clothing@gmail.com to make arrangements.

How long will it take?

  • General alterations: approx. 1 week

  • Bridal alterations: minimum 4 weeks

  • Bespoke tailoring: 4–8 weeks

Can I drop off my sewing machine for servicing at your shop?

Yes, we’re an official drop-off point for Lewisham & Deptford Sewing Machines UK.

Machines are collected every Wednesday at 12 noon.

Please note: We do not carry out repairs or take payment for the sewing machines.
