Donna Beal

Donna is a professional seamstress and designer with almost 30 years of experience in the fashion industry, having worked for several designers and stylists such as John Richmond, Artwork Knitwear and Men’s Fashion Week. She studied at the London College of Fashion, where she later taught Fashion Garment Construction, and was awarded Best Womenswear at the London College of Fashion in 1996.

Her most notable work includes fittings and alterations of various costumes for the professionals and celebrities on Strictly Come Dancing, multiple commission works for television and Netflix, including the 2018 award-winning Best Drama Series ‘The End of the (expletive) World’.


The Workshop

Following her work on Strictly Come Dancing, she set up The Workshop in 2015 which is based in Crofton Park, London.

The Workshop aims to give a new lease of life to old clothes by upcycling, reusing, and reinventing them by using top-quality Gutermann thread and Merchant & Mills products. Furthermore, it also offers bespoke made-to-measure clothing, tailoring, repairs, and alteration services for all your clothing needs, and specialises in bridal work. One-to-one sewing lessons from beginner to advanced levels are available to purchase online and in-store too.

In addition, Donna designs her own collection ‘Donna Beal’, which includes dresses, tops, bags, skirts, and much more, available to purchase in the shop.

In conjunction with a local business, Our Favourite Things, Donna works with Sallyanne Jones to offer a bespoke soft furnishings and upholstery service to meet all your interior design requirements for your home.
