Donna’s career in fashion has taken her across design, tailoring, teaching and television, giving her a broad and hands-on understanding of how clothes are made, worn and experienced.
She studied fashion at London College of Fashion and has worked across high-end couture, fashion education and television production. Her career has included working behind the scenes on everything from Strictly Come Dancing to Men’s Fashion Week, alongside developing her own collections and creating pop-up fashion experiences across the capital.
This breadth of experience has shaped the way Donna sees clothing – not simply as something to wear, but as a combination of design, craftsmanship, fit and feeling. She has an instinctive understanding of what makes a garment work for the person wearing it, from the smallest adjustment to a piece created entirely from scratch.
Today, she brings that knowledge, creativity and expertise to The Workshop - helping people make the most of what they already have, alongside creating one-off pieces that feel truly their own.
The Workshop
In 2015, after her stint on Strictly Come Dancing, Donna established The Workshop in Crofton Park, London. The Workshop breathes new life into old clothes through upcycling, reusing, and reinventing them with high-quality Gutermann thread and Merchant & Mills products. It also offers bespoke made-to-measure clothing, tailoring, repairs, and alteration services, with a special focus on bridal work. Additionally, one-to-one sewing lessons for all skill levels are available both online and in-store.
Donna also designs her own collection, ‘Donna Beal’, featuring dresses, tops, bags, skirts, and more, all available for purchase at the shop.
Collaborations
Donna collaborates with Sallyanne Jones of Our Favourite Things to provide bespoke soft furnishings and upholstery services, catering to all your home interior design needs.
